After years of anticipation, International Paper is finally reopening a refurbished Kensington Mansion in Eastover, South Carolina, with a guided tour on June 9, 2018. Unfortunately this event sold out fast. The Facebook page seems to be the best resource for photos and things; I didn’t see any mention yet on the IP PR page:

And take a gander at that copper roof, would ya? Though new it’s already cloaked in a patina in the humid river basin. It’s over the creek from me and I have been remiss not to visit their Christmas open houses.
International Paper makes fiber-based packaging materials; its global supply chain makes it a good international business story. It’s a great day in South Carolina, as Nikki Haley might say, for corporate news with a historical angle.
